National Catholic Announces Its Next Vice President, Claims & Shareholder Initiatives

National Catholic is pleased to announce that Doug McKenna has been hired as the Vice President, Claims and Shareholder Initiatives.  Doug brings many years of experience to this position.  Most recently, he served as Director of Claims and Claims Counsel for the Christian Brothers Risk Pooling Trust.

Doug is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.  He holds an MBA degree from Loyola University Chicago.  He earned a Law Degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago, John Marshall School of Law, and was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2009.

Doug began his career in claims at Gallagher Bassett in 2001, handling diocesan claims in Northern Indiana and eventually managing litigation for the Costco unit.  He joined Christian Brothers Services in 2018 and worked exclusively managing claims made against members of the Risk Pooling Trust.  It was during this time that he encountered National Catholic, since the Christian Brothers Risk Pooling Trust is a founding member.

Upon accepting our employment offer, Mr. McKenna stated, “I have known and respected the staff and management of TNC for many years.  Their approach to the management of litigation is identical to mine.  Litigation is an unfortunate fact of life in managing claims.  The protection of our assets and the good name of our shareholders is our primary focus.”

Doug and his wife, Deanne, live in Arlington Heights, Illinois, with their two sons, Colin and Shane.  They are very active in sports and in the social life of their parish, Our Lady of the Wayside.  Doug will work out of the Lisle office, and he looks forward to meeting all the valued shareholder representatives, their claims providers, and brokers.

We’re excited to have Doug join our team at National Catholic.
